The Purge Before the Storm: Preparing for your big Move

I am a professional mover. In the last 10 years, I think I've moved about 10 times. I wish I was kidding. Some of this was college, but I've moved every year since undergrad. I take pride in that (yay, independent woman whose parents always fly out to help her move), but I'm happy to announce that I am renewing my lease! What a concept (and a first!)
In those 1o or so moves, I learned a lot. I've told you about my dad, but I have not shared that my mom is the matriarch (or CFO = Chief Family Officer) of my family. I joke that growing up, I could eat off the floor (no joke, the 5 second rule did not exist in our household). I also found it was totally normally for Vietnam Vets to come to our house monthly to take away donations. This was normal (well, for me I guess, not for the average American).
All this to say, my mom is a genius, for many reasons. She is a lover of black and white (both in fashion, and in logic) and graduated with a computer science degree working in programming during a time where women didn't work in programming. She ran our house like a business - if you're on time you're late, if you don't clean up, you're a slob. To this day, my house, which I can assure you is "v" clean is a pig-sty accordingly to my mother - love you Mom!
Here are some ways to stay calm (and carry on) in the midst of your upcoming move:
1. Start Early
2. Clean Often
3. Organize, and Purge:
4. Get your tools ready:
5. Have a plan:
Happy Organizing!
